About this event

The EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Research Hub is pleased to invite you to attend our fourth annual open day on Tuesday 13 September 2022 at the University of Sheffield, The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). This free-to-attend, in-person event will cover a range of Hub projects and provide Hub partners with the opportunity to highlight research progress to date, and showcase project outputs. Current PhD students and researchers will present their high quality and diverse composites research through a poster session.

The Hub are pleased to welcome keynote speaker, Dr Stu Morris, Engineering Director at Pentaxia, to present at the event.

The Open day will be supported by SAMPE UK and Ireland, who will host a Young Engineers Competition, where students will be invited to participate in a ‘Design and Make’ Competition which will be judged on the day and prizes awarded to the winning team.

The event will be a great opportunity for those across the composites manufacturing supply chain to learn more about the Hub’s latest research and how they can contribute to the Hub’s development and expansion and the opportunities available.

The open day will close with an evening dinner reception at The Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria Hotel, Sheffield, which you are invited to attend.

If you require accommodation for the event, the preferred hotel is The Crowne Plaza Royal Victoria, Sheffield. Bookings can be made using the following link Crowne Plaza Sheffield- Hub open day Hotel booking link Please note that the rooms are subject to availability.

The open day will be followed by the International Conference on Manufacturing of Advanced Composites (ICMAC), 14 September 2022.
